When It Rains, It Shines

In preparation for a photography exhibition I am curating in May, which will focus on the many facets of Florida, I have dug into some interesting histories. As a fourth generation Floridian of Cuban decent, I have lived atop the Everglades, the white hot streets of Miami Beach and the lake punched land in Central Florida. All of these places have roots of complex development with bitter-sweet tangles of politics and culture. I finally feel close to something I wasn't sure how to identify with. More thoughts to come...

Isn't she lovely? The light was delish and we ended up playing in a garden until the mozzies decided to run us out. So, this is my dedication to you.

The other night my dear friend, the Retartist, gave me a promo cassette of Red House Painters Down Colorful Hill. I have always loved this photograph by Simon Larbalestier. Who has done several album covers for Red House Painters, The Pixies, and many others. The last image reminds me of something you would see at this lady's house.

Nathan Vincent is hilarious. How great is the juxtaposition of this work when identifying the estrogen and testosterone ( hence the term testrogen) mixed together? so good. There's also an amazing gun collection.

The idea came from my friend Amelia, to make custom eye charts with friends and family names. They are for sale at her store, Willows, and also on etsy. Custom made eye charts where you choose the color, the flourish at the bottom and the words. Wish me luck!
